17 babies a day are lost to stillbirth or neonatal death
That means 6500 families a year are left heartbroken.

Here at Wigan Sands we hope we can help even just a small percentage of this figure come to terms with what has happened. We dont have all the answers but we are here to help, support and advise.

All of the people here have sadly suffered the devastation of losing a much loved and much wanted for baby.

The death of a baby can happen to any one of us, people always think "it will never happen to me!"but sadly it does.
If your child died in pregnancy,during or shortly after birth, or maybe passed away after spending time in the neo natal unit, or even if you got to take your little one home but they sadly coudn't stay, or if you made the heartbreaking desicion to end your pregnancy, then we are here to support you.

We also hope to support not just mothers and fathers but younger and older siblings, grandparents, aunties, uncles and friends, whoever has been unfortunate enough to be affected by the death of a baby..
